ABOUT
THIS PRODUCTION:
A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM is based
on the tales of Titus Macchius Plautus centring around
Pseudolus the “clever slave”. In this production,
Pseudolus is desperate for his freedom and his quest
leads him to wreck havoc in the lives of the lovesick
Hero and the beautiful object of his affections, Philia,
as well as Senex the “dirty old man” and his demanding
wife, Domina, not to mention their hapless slave in
chief Hysterium. Throw in Erronius who is looking for
his children - stolen in infancy by pirates, the cunning
Marcus Lycus, dashing Captain Miles Gloriosus, a dozen
captivating courtesans and the versatile Proteans, and
you have a recipe for an evening full of “Comedy
Tonight”.
