Into The Woods

Sondheim & Lapine

About this production
An amateur production by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd.

Into the Woods, by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim is a (highly psychosexual!) black comedy musical that intertwines the fairy tales of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Jack & The Beanstalk. Desperate to have a child, a Baker and his Wife are sent into the woods on a quest set out by their disgruntled next door neighbour, the Witch. Act One seems to end Happily Every After for all concerned, but Act Two provides a disturbing twist to the conventional celebrations.
